Why we choose to offset
Two-thirds of North American birds are at increasing risk of extinction from global temperature rise, being driven by excess CO2e in the atmosphere.
Red Rock Audubon acknowledges this reality, and is committed to offsetting its CO2e created through chapter activities (e.g. field trips, board meetings)–approximately 33 metric tonnes (mT) annually.
Our chapter’s offset makes a measurable impact on lowering global CO2e levels through verified carbon reducing projects that deliver co-benefits to communities and biodiversity–both locally and globally. You can help us extend this impact.
Help us make a bigger impact for birds
You can help us make an even bigger impact with your own personal or gift carbon offset subscription–all offsets made here are tracked and attributed to Red Rock Audubon Society
Essential monthly
Offset .5 mT CO2e and support verified recovery of 3 pounds coastal plastic waste monthly. Total 6 mT CO2e reduction / 36 pounds plastic waste removal in a year. A big impact for less than the cost of lunch.
$9 / Month
Balanced monthly
Offset 1 mT CO2e and support verified recovery of 6 pounds coastal plastic waste monthly. Total 12 mT CO2e reduction / 72 pounds plastic waste removal in a year. This will balance most individuals' lifestyles.
$18 / month
Summit monthly
Offset 2 mT CO2e and support verified recovery of 12 pounds coastal plastic waste monthly. Total 24 mT CO2e reduction / 144 pounds plastic waste removal in a year. For couples and those wanting to do more.

Why your action matters
Excess CO2e in our atmosphere is disrupting communities, biodiversity and ecosystems around the globe. While lowering your own emissions through lifestyle choices is critical to the long-term health of our planet’s climate system, this alone will not make the near-term impact on legacy emissions needed to slow climate change.
When you offset carbon emissions through the Red Rock Audubon / Offset Alliance program, you don’t just make a verified reduction in global CO2e reductions–you also help make a positive impact on communities and biodiversity in-line with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
