We’ve taken measured and meaningful climate action through the Offset Climate Certified™ certification for events, making our experience together better for our planet.

Partnering with Offset Alliance

We collaborated with Offset Alliance to measure the most relevant emissions created by our retreat, and offset 150% of this measurement through Offset Alliance’s portfolio of global carbon reduction projects.

Land travel

Emissions from attendees driving to the event, and airport transfers to the event property. Did you know? Each gallon of gasoline bought and burned adds about 25 pounds of CO2e to our atmosphere? DEFRA

Hotel use & food

Nightly reserved rooms for attendees, event space, and food & beverage supplied throughout the event. Did you know? Across California the average nightly hotel stay adds about 25 pounds of CO2e to our atmosphere? HCMI

Air travel

Flights taken by attendees to get here. Did you know? This is typically the biggest source of emissions for travelers–each seat on a r/t flight from NYC to LAX adds about 2,350 pounds of CO2e to our atmosphere. ICAO

Total 17.73 mT and we offset 27 mT.

How carbon offsets lower global CO2 emissions

Projects around the world are being funded and created to lower CO2e levels in our atmosphere–like rebuilding forests, conserving wild lands and installing renewable energy to replace the burning of fossil fuels. When projects are based on and follow specific and rigorous protocols, they can generate and sell carbon offset credits. These are an important funding source for a project’s ongoing operations and continued success. When you purchase carbon offset credits, you financially support these projects for making measured and verified CO2e reductions. One carbon offset represents the reduction or removal of one metric tonne (2,205 pounds) CO2e from the atmosphere–that’s like taking a passenger car off the road. for three months. See a visual.
